The Moscow Arts Commission Youth Choir is a city-sponsored program for third through sixth graders. The choir is under the direction of LaDene Edwards, music instructor at Lena Whitmore Elementary School and accompanied by Gretchen Wissner, who is also at Lena.

Children audition for the 40-50-member choir in September and January. They meet twice a week throughout the school year to receive quality vocal training. At the end of the semester, they tour the elementary schools, perform at a local retirement center, the mall and community events such as the Farmers’ Market. They participate in the University of Idaho’s Holiday Concert, which is coordinated by the Lionel Hampton School of Music. They are one of two children’s choirs who perform with many high school and college groups from throughout the region. The children conclude the year with a concert for family and friends.
